Pret supports numerous charities helping the homeless and the underprivileged in Hong Kong (including Salvation Army, Ark Association, Street Sleepers Association, etc.) by offering our unsold sandwiches to them at the end of each day.
We display donation boxes in all our shops to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and help to raise public awareness of their organisation. Each Christmas, we have a Charity Campaign with Make-A-Wish Foundation. For every Christmas Sandwich sold, Pret A Manger will donate HK$1 to them. We also donate products to their "Share the joy of a wish" campaign for their fundraising event.
G2G provides an important link between companies with surplus food and various food banks and shelters across Hong Kong - helping both low-income families and the environment in the process.
The Pret Foundation Trust - UK
Julian Metcalfe and Sinclair Beecham (the founders of Pret A Manger) set up The Pret Foundation Trust in the UK in 1995. The Trust is funded by money that we donate from the sales of some of our products, and customer donations through collection boxes in shops. This primarily supports the Pret Charity Run, a fleet of electric vans, which collect and distribute our leftover food at the end of every day to charities for the homeless across London. In total, we donate nearly 2 million meals to charities for the homeless across the UK every year.
