
We have good jobs for good people making great food. Pret is a private British company, determined never to forget that our wonderful hardworking people make all the difference. They are our heart and soul. When they care, our business is sound. If they stop caring, our business goes down the drain.
We pay our people as much as we can afford, rather than as little as we can get away with. We invest in, train and develop our people (55% of our managers started life as Team Members). The average monthly salary (including bonus) for Team Members is up to $10,500. The average monthly salary (including bonuses) for General Managers is $24,000 and Assistant Managers is $16,500.
All our shops have trainers within their core staff. We run many courses at our busy Training Academy in Causeway Bay (most of which have nothing to do with sandwich making). They seem to work. Prakash Sahi, a General Manager in one of our largest shops, began working with us as a Team Member in our very first shop nearly 10 years ago; Operations Manager Kalei Fung joined us as a Team Member in 2002. We will continue to invest heavily in our employees' development. We don't sit on our backsides talking about staff 'training and development'. We actually get on and do it.
We employ many different nationalities, and value the cosmopolitan feel this gives the company.
We wear jeans.
Five times a year, we throw a massive party. Some have passed into Pret legend. Everyone at Pret is invited.
